Find out the astonishing similarities between Trump and Obama
Warning if you’re NOT an independent thinker, or far left or far right, do not read this article. Your confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance will only inflame your ridged thinking. The decades of fox news and CNN programming will glitch. If you don’t use the internet to leverage your thinking and blind spots in life click the x at the top left-hand corner..Now for the free thinkers, let’s go for a walk…And find out the astonishing similarities between Trump and Obama..
A beautiful thing about life is that you can grow up thinking one way and as you age you can begin to accept the opposite way of thinking..Ever notice how the yin and yang are in the same symbol? Heads and tails are apart of the same coin? The left and right-wing of politics are the same eagle?.. Western society doesn’t teach us to see things as part of a whole.
We’re taught to dissect, tear apart. Pick a side, choose favorites, rather than enjoy everything. Lead singers turn solo but the band never sounds the same with a new drummer or bass player that never gets the proper shine. But What does this have to do with Trump and Obama?
Stay with me and keep walking..I challenge you for a moment to set aside the charisma of Obama, his Hollywood smile, and mellow tone of voice. Do the same for Trump’s arrogance, outspokenness, and business savy..What are we left with? A politician but more important, a human…it’s mandatory to humanize polarizing figures despite how unpopular it may be…
In a country where status is oxygen, there is perhaps no bigger status in America than the president..No position is more revered and yet criticized. Forgiven and chastized..But it takes an independent mind to understand this…While all presidents have been defended and opposed to a certain extent..The two most polarizing, by far have been Trump and Obama…and this is where the astonishing similarities between Trump and Obama begin….
Our “Cult of Trump” book review highlighted the prophetic and god-like aura Trump’s followers have for him. This goes beyond a cult-like following..Cults leaders often don’t have access to fox news and other national media to promote their agenda. As a result, they don’t have huge followers of Trump. But least we forget about Obama?
Obama didn’t have the leeway of white privilege or the tenacity to arouse his followers. Obama served one term as a senator which places him barely one level above Trump’s zero political experience. But neither one has much experience…Obama’s experience as a community organizer, however, would lead him to run for office and was the main hook to attract voters. Finally, someone who could understand black people’s cries…
A politician who will help us to a promised land…Sound familiar..Yes, a promised land is the name of Obama’s new book. However, how is this anticipation and expectation any different than Trump’s cult?
Minorities were fed up with two terms of the Bush administration. Hurricane Katrina, a war in the middle east…Presidents had never done right by the black community. Never before have rappers voiced support for a president. Obama played basketball, had bbq cookouts at the white house just like any stereotypical black person would do…
Obama would release his annual top playlist of the year which mostly featured rappers. Obama was in tune with black culture, even if his policies or lack thereof reflected otherwise..
It reached a point where people didn’t care about his policies but were shocked at there being a mixed black president that seemed relatable. It would seem as if black folks would rather have a president with a mid-range jumper and jay-z on his playlist. Rather than an unathletic, uncharismatic politician who had a specific agenda for the black experience.
Obama understood the language and culture of his supporters, Just like trump understood the arrogance and naivete of the far-right..
Trump knew that stirring up fear of bad immigrants would strengthen the bond of his far-right followers. Anyone, whether they exist or not, but it’s better if you can put a face to it. Even more so if there’s a culture or ethnic group. As long as the right is fearful of the idea that someone or something is taking what they feel is rightful there’s. Neither Trump nor Obama’s campaigns focused on the present but rather the past or the future.
This is why Obama’s “A change you can believe in was just as effective as Trump’s make America great again. Trump was just better at branding and marketing. The far-right was upset with Obama’s 2 terms and felt their privilege and country slipping away from them.
This is where the astonishing similarities between Trump and Obama get deeper..
Because politics is divisive and both Trump and Obama were viewed as potential saviors to their supporters, it’s only right they were both devils to their critics…
Obama received lots of votes based on his skin color, as did Trump in addition to his gender. It’s safe to assume that many of the “God chose Trump” religious zealots, were the same ones calling Obama the anti-christ..Obama was pressured even by Trump to show his birth certificate. Trump wanted to garner early support before his run for the presidency by calling President Obama citizenship in Question.
If we’re being objective, both Trump and Obama divided groups of people and strengthened the support of another. You can’t please everyone obviously. However, the far-right and left are so drunk off the candidate’s manipulation they miss the similarities discussed above.
This is why division in politics is so effective because you become part of the show but aren’t aware that a script exists.
If you’re too busy hating Trump you fail to see that his supporter’s love for him mirrors that of Obama and vice versa.
In conclusion, The most astonishing similarity between Trump and Obama is their appeal to the lower class of their supporters, and haters…But neither did much to help them…Both Trump and Obama’s upbringing and backgrounds are so far removed from the lower class. However, the agenda was to sell you empathy and now you’re in debt.
