If the bible is filled with prophecies, why do you idol worship Donald Trump?
An August 2021 poll by pew research reveals White evangelicals who attended church monthly voted for Trump in 2020. On the surface, this doesn’t seem newsworthy or may not come to you as a surprise. Blame the thousands of people leaving the church and the lack of biblical morals being reinforced in society today. Furthermore, why pray and ask God when you can type and ask google? Lest we forget our newfound co-dependency on technology makes us less self-reliant and less dependent on our God. Unfortunately, the divide is so sharp between both parties that most people are unaware of the hypocrisy on the right. If the bible is filled with prophecies, why do you still ignorantly idol worship Donald Trump?
Our book review of the cult of Trump more than solidifies the religious fervor of the former president that has recently resurfaced. Several speeches and an announcement of the Truth app has republicans ecstatic. Our need for drama to fill our boring lives is a better substitute than the sleepy boring president we have in office now. White evangelical Republicans are more likely to use the bible as a reference for the jab as the mark of the beast. Or to refer to Obama as the Antichrist, biblical references are quite common among them. However, this is one of the stereotypical issues people have with most Christians, at least in America..
What about the rest of the bible, in particular Idol worship? Do you take the word of God as Truth or Trump’s new app as Truth.? You have to pick aside. In fact, your blind faith towards Trump is playing into the division of the country. I’m under the belief that true religion and spiritualists have no involvement in politics, but let’s stay with the bible. Many Christians today say we’re in the last days, and the last days would be similar to the days of Noah. Now with the rainbow covenant, God promised not to flood the earth again. However, Noah spent 140 years warning the people of the incoming flood and destruction of society. Therefore shouldn’t the true believers of the bible be prepping for what is about to come? What good is it to distract yourself with idol worhip Donald Trump who feeds off and transmutes the attention he receives into dollars?… Isn’t the bigger concern revelation?
Or perhaps it’s too much to really believe the end of days and we want to enjoy the comforts of first-world living? Why stay entangled in the scripted drama of politics when your holy book is warning you of impending doom?. Furthermore, if you don’t believe in revelation, then you’re picking and choosing what to follow from the word of god. If it’s the word of god then it’s all true, correct?… It’s time evangelical Christians look in the mirror and look in the bible, and follow it.
In conclusion, The very first commandment is though shall not have any other God’s before me for a reason!. Before murder, before theft, idol worship is the first sin. Evangelical protestants may not murder or steal, but idol worship is still a sin. If you truly believe the bible with your spirit and all your heart, then why are you more concerned with politics than the rapture? Or revelation? Jesus told you not to be of this world and there are very few things that keep you trapped in this world more than politics.
