The Anti-mary exposed, rescuing the culture from toxic femininity book review by Carrie Gress
How many times have you lost your wallet, purse, or keys? After 15, 30 mins of looking, it was right in front of you. Or about the friends or significant others you took for granted and thought were replaceable. Only to find out that that person was a rare gem and you find someone anywhere near as special as them. Similarly, our outlook on society and social science is the same today. Are we arrogant to think we’re the first to devise a new way of doing something? There are Millions of cultures and billions of people on the planet. Humans have had a billion years of trial and error. Yet today, we think we have discovered a new way of doing something. According to Carrie Gress’s book, the answer to feminism is several thousand years old. The anti-mary exposed, rescuing the culture from a toxic feminity book review.
My hatred for women translated into hating families in general, because I knew many of my female friends desired to have one. I could not see how a woman in her right mind would desire to marry and have children, thus becoming a slave of her family, instead of studying and becoming a successful and recognized worker, thus becoming a slave of academia and the workplace.
From, 5 confessions of an Ex-feminist
Why wouldn’t a woman want to be a feminist today? It gives you leverage to control societal narratives. You can earn more money today than ever. No crying babies waking you up, no maternity leave causing you to miss work opportunities. After all, you’ve seen how your friends and family were traumatized after a divorce. Who wants to live with that burden? Rather than take orders from a husband, you could work overtime and make more money. Well, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
“The unspoken feminist mantra says, “Men, even though we want to be just like you, you must change”
Satan’s point of entry chapter from The Anti mary exposed
The problem is Russia has already tried this; the result? Tens of millions of people were killed and or died in famines. No society in the history of the world has survived without clear gender roles and families. This makes feminism and communism essential tools in the destruction of societies. But it’s all they see for women and girls coming of age who don’t know any better. Pop culture, commercials, the fashion industry, and television echo chambers and marketing platforms promoting feminism. Women think in hives and community; according to Gress’s Anti-Mary, women are naturally egalitarian. Therefore, once feminist talking points become public opinion, it will be hard to get them to change their minds. However, there’s a catch.

“But the sisterhood is extended only to those women who check off the right ideological boxes….”
Gress explored women’s egalitarian nature in a few chapters of her book, exposing toxic femininity. While feminism claims to want equality for women, all women aren’t even treated as equal by feminists. Women who value traditional gender roles will be put back into place, thus forming egalitarian social constructs. Yet, study shows that today’s women are more depressed and on medication than ever.
Why So Many Women in Middle Age Are on Antidepressants
“The innate strain for resources takes its toll on a woman’s thought patterns, character, and sense of happiness. Many women desire more than what they currently have or are”
Satan’s point of entry chapter
It’s no coincidence that this chapter is Satan’s point of entry. The government, corporations, and media are all playing devil’s advocate by enticing women with the world, Jesus like the devil tempted Jesus while fasting with the world. So too, are women being tempted with everything, and they continue to bite the apple. Gress’s talks about goddess worship being a way women today cope with feminism, but it’s all a continuation of feeding their ego. Jezebel and Lilith’s spirits are discussed here;
“She lives out her vengeance through the seduction of men to bolster her own fertility, while wantonly killing infants who have not been protected against her”
Goddess worship is afoot chapter
Next, the chapter discusses how feminism attempts to do the impossible and change female nature. Russian history is explored, giving the reader historical evidence of the failure of not only communism but empowering women over men.
The big lie:Changing human nature chapter
“It was imperative that the idea of motherhood was divorced from the reality of being a woman…The Russian revolution unleashed the idea that human nature is infinitely malleable and can be rearranged into perfect equality. People who lived under the soviet shadow paid a horrendous price.”
The above aren’t conservative talking points, or old worn, out ways of thinking. It’s historical facts. It’s important to be objective while reading this book to correlate these talking points with popular media personalities you may not like. Just take the information as it comes. While several more chapters expose the toxic femininity of feminism, the book’s final section promotes Mary as the solution for feminism.
Early in the book, Gress details that most early feminist leaders had traumatic relationships with their mothers. Which would later cause them to project this trauma to the world as feminism. And the answer to this? A mother….This is quite beautiful if I’m being honest. Gress is giving readers and women who have lost their way the mother they’ve never had. An example to model their life after that aligns with human nature. The following is one of my favorite quotes in the entire book.
“Taking this point a step further, it is also fair to say that women generally have a fundamental desire to nurture. Sadly we can also be remarkably misguided in what we choose to nurture. Instead of nurturing children or spiritual children, our nurturing can embrace something intangible, such as a grudge, anger, victimization, resentment or pain….We can hold our traumas tightly, perpetually nursing them. “””
Fruit and content chapter
In conclusion, The anti-mary exposed, rescuing the culture from toxic feminity, is a good easy read. The book’s mission was to show how feminism is detrimental to not only women but society and it gives an easy-to-understand beneficial solution.
“When a woman’s self-will is erased enough to allow room for God, to become his instrument, that is when the miraculous happens.”
