The terrifying hypocrisy of liberals regarding climate change and the environment
When two strongly opposing sides fail to see eye to eye, it is often due to them being two sides of the same coin. We can only treat people how we treat ourselves and how we see the world. If we see ourselves as slaves and everything and everyone as transactional, this is how we’ll approach and solve our problems. If we see ourselves as victims, we will also convince others that they are victims. Despite the comforts of modern living, humans still haven’t managed to learn the art of agreeing to disagree. This brings us to, The terrifying hypocrisy of liberals regarding climate change and the environment.
Persuasion is better than force.
The north wind and the sun argued which was the stronger. On seeing a traveller they agreed a suitable test would be to strip him of his cloak. First the wind blew with all his might, but the more he blew, the more than man wrapped the cloak tightly around himself. When the sun’s turn came, he gently beamed at the man, who loosened the cloak. The sun shone brighter still, and the man threw off his cloak.
The North wind and the Sun, Aesops fables
Australia has been the epicenter for climate activists recently. Weekly protests, prisontime and $22,000 fines aren’t enough to stop climate activists from protesting. Understandably so, so much fear-based climate change propaganda is spread throughout the country that protests would become inevitable. Last year, thousands of children skipped school in Australia to go on climate strike. All of the above should come as no surprise that eco-anxiety is real. Isn’t anxiety bad enough? Feeling as if you’re going to die, your heart racing, unable to catch your breath. If a person believes the world is coming to an end, then what won’t they do? This leads us to the terrifying hypocrisy of the liberals regarding climate change and environmentalism.
Remember, we stated earlier that when two groups of people refuse to get along, they have more in common than their willingness to admit and are projecting the same internal issue onto the other differently. For instance, Liberals claim that conservatives and rich people hoard all the money and don’t share. Liberals also claim that conservatives don’t care about the environment and only want to extract resources from the earth for material gain. Well, the reality is that liberals are the biggest exploiters of government programs and assistance. Liberals advocated for free lunch, free housing, free gas, and free heat; all of the things come with a cost, and someone is footing the bill. Furthermore, consumer spending doesn’t drive an economy but saving a portion of your income does. And, liberals haven’t learned the value of saving money because they have been getting and asking for handouts. Now, what does this have to do with climate change and the environment, you ask? Everything.
10 essential economic truths that liberals need to learn
Just as liberals blame conservatives for exploiting citizens, liberals willing to allow the government to exploit them and will advocate for it. Liberals will protest and give away their power rather than look within themselves and develop an inner sense of value and discipline. This relates to the environment because humans are resources as well. Climate change isn’t just the weather, crazy natural disaster storms, and whatnot, but the entire ecosystem of man’s relationship within that framework. Liberals are hypocrites regarding climate change because they use the same eurocentric thinking that they claim caused it in the first place. They see themselves as separate from climate change sure, they see or imagine themselves being affected by it in the future, but that intimate relationship with nature is lacking. Here are two reasons why.
First, Our book review of Sand Talk gives a great perspective on this. Written by an aboriginal scholar, the chapter titled “Be like your place”,
“In the home language of my family, there is no word for culture. There is a phrase that approximates that concept, but the meaning is untranslatable into English”: aak ngamparam yimanag wunan. If you look at the direct translation of each word, the meaning comes out as “being like our place”. I think this is a good way to start if you want to begin to discern the patterns of creation and rejoin our custodial species. When you engage with this way of being, you will find it changes you in subtle ways. The patterns of your language will change as you find ways to express the places you come into relation with . Your accent will change to refelct the landscapes you inhabit. I have moved around so much in Austrailia over the years that my own accent is weirdly muddled: there are too many places and people in me. Being in profound relation to place changes everything about you, your voice, your smell, your walk, your morality.”
Sand Talk, Be like your place
As we’ve stated countless times on this website, we’re all in a narcissistic relationship with the government; we’ve divorced nature long ago. Indigenous cultures that have been moved from their lands may not have material luxury, but they are still in tune with nature. For instance, in an interview with Eskimos, the interviewer is trying to bait an Eskimo to buy into climate change using fear-based terms. In one particular instance, the interviewer asks the Eskimo about the “threat” of climate change. The Eskimo responds with;
Q: How long have Arctic communities perceived climate change as a threat?
I.K.:Â First, it hasn’t been perceived as a threat. That’s very much today’s Western perspective. People are concerned with what is happening, but I haven’t heard them speaking about their environment as being “under threat.” [They describe it as] “a friend acting strangely.” It’s a friend that behaves a little bit weird, but doesn’t cease to be a friend because it’s your home.
Again, not just liberals, but most of us westerners don’t have a relationship with our place. Recycling, riding a bike to work, being a minimalist, and hiking on weekends won’t do it. Just look at the term natural disaster, it’s natural, but all we are taught to focus on is the disaster. This black and white thinking is eurocentric and separates man from nature, thus giving rise to mental illnesses and eco-anxiety.
Lastly, as we stated in the beginning, the Aesops fable of persuasion vs. force rages true for liberals. We’ve heard the terms “a force to be reckoned with”, and “a force of nature.” Force may be good for an MMA or boxing match, bridge construction, home or building construction, or protection of loved ones in danger. To put it forcefully, force should seldom be used by humans. If humans were to be like their place, they would see that nature isn’t forceful all the time. The majority of the time, nature isn’t forceful at all. The force comes in bouts and spurts, and it’s gone like a strong gust of wind. Natural disasters are rare and don’t last long in the grand scheme. A tornado or hurricane isn’t going to last over two months. But liberal environmentalists are no strangers to violent protests.
If the goal of environmentalists is not to harm the environment, what is blowing up tree logs and other businesses doing to the environment? Remember, environmentalists are supposed to be eco-friendly, not causing chaos and havoc everywhere they go. This was explained in our article, “ How environmentalists can overcome their fear of death by embracing spirituality.” Liberal environmentalists lack the spiritual depth as the Indians from hundreds of years ago, who died hugging the trees. These environmentalists didn’t disrupt other people’s daily lives by blocking traffic or raising awareness. Yet they are still remembered over 400 years later. They are raising awareness still from beyond. The Indian environmentalist from hundreds of years ago practiced “be like your place”, so there was no fear of death. Furthermore, they didn’t see themselves separate from nature. Lastly, they didn’t beg their government for free lunch when the earth already provided everything for them. There were no grocery stores either.
In conclusion, if power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely, then you should be concerned about climate change activist. Don’t take my word for it. It is becoming increasingly acceptable to destroy property and the environment if you don’t have your way.. Take the popularity and rave reviews for “how to blow up a pipeline.”. Which justifies the use of destroying things which affect the climate because being passive isn’t enough. Now is the author going to do these things himself or just influencing those already suffering from eco-anxiety? I’ll let you decide. And what if, 30 years from now, nothing has changed? Then what? The professional hypocrisy of liberals regarding climate change and the environment comes down to self-value and reflection. It takes humbleness and maturity to reflect on oneself to “be like your place.” The agenda to self-destruct the planet is well underway and is working as planned. Maybe once everything is destroyed and the only thing left is nature, liberals will then learn to be like their place…
Stay tuned for part two. The hypocrisy of conservatives regarding climate change and the environment.
