Atheist vs theist. Freethinkers can be both. Dispelling the popular myth.
Today everyone is divided, spiritually and politically. Cults and gangs are becoming the norm. Freethinking is a trendy phrase used by many to appear different or to stand out in the social media climate of popular opinion. Ironically like most groups, the differences between Atheists and theists are minute and they may have more in common than not. Neither one can prove or disprove the existence or lack thereof of a “GOD”.Both believe their faith is morally superior to the other. Yes, Atheism is a faith just like religion as it is a belief rooted in ideology. Yet, Athiest seem to think they have a monopoly on the freethinkers/ independent thinkers market. The lesson to learn from this is that cultural traditions can still be a source of independent thinking no matter how old. As we continue to deny ageism discrimination we will further our belief that anything old and orthodox can’t be an independent thought. Atheist vs theist is deeper than god vs no god, let’s dispel the popular myth.
Idol worship in Netflix’s who killed Malcolm X
The rebel without a cause, Detroit red also known as Malcolm X. However, when X then Malcolm little was sentenced to prison he was an atheist, under a different name…Satan, as he name amongst his inmates. Malcolm was chaotic with no principles and on the road to self-destruction and an even earlier demise. Malcolm was a product of his environment and peer group and chose a life of crime. But this would change in prison after adopting the Islamic faith of the Nation of Islam.
The nation of Islam depending on who you ask is still a radical group to this day. Even more so when Malcolm joined. While there were always a underground market for black spiritual groups they weren’t the norm. Many still attended churches, and were believers in Jesus christ as their lord and savior. In terms of Atheist vs theist freethinker dillema, Malcolm is the perfect subject. By it’s definition Malcolm was a free thinker technically once he became a member of the nation of Islam. Yet, he was a rebellious freethinker as an athiest criminal. Leading a life of crime objecting moral ethics and norm takes a level of thinking independently. However, freethinkers and independent thinkers according to Resonance news are morally sound, spiritually improving to break their cycles of karma.
Freethinking is a subjective, contextual complex ideology. It’s different for every single person, it’s simply eliminating and transforming to the best version of yourself. It’s becoming free from the old negative habits and patterns that hinder your spiritual evolution. In the case of Malcolm X, adding religion and structure to his life gave him the foundation to channel his rebelliousness against not the system. But his lower self, his lower animalistic nature. In essence, he was still the rebel he was as Detroit red, the difference was he harnessed and distributed the energy productively. During a time when the majority of blacks were going to Christian churches, even considering another “religion” was an act of free-thinking in and of itself. So can one be a free thinker while attending church if everyone is doing it?
Find out the astonishing similarities between Trump and Obama
Definitely. If one is challenging their doubts to a certain extent, and asking questions while having faith. Freethinking is more of an internal battle and war rather than a cool catch phrase to sound different. Everything starts and ends from the inside. For some people being rebellious and chaotic gives them structure, for others they need more structure in their daily lives. At the end of the day we all need structure, however. For atheist to deny that a religious person or a theist can’t be a free thinker is ignorant and arrogant. Not only because the atheist themselves can’t disprove god. But because they arent aware of the inner demons that had to be slayed. There is a constant struggle of duality raging within us all, takes timing and awareness to successfully conquer it. Mastery of the senses will make one automatically a free thinker regardless of Atheist vs theist beliefs.
Due to evolution, we seek constant improvement yet we seek comfort and self-preservation. We want to be forward and progressive but are constantly victims of our past. Many times we thought a new ideology would improve our society and nearly destroyed ourselves. Via communism in Russia, child laws in china, etc. We are in a constant flux of trial and error. In order to make mistakes, you have to have the courage to think freely. However, the same courage is needed to admit mistakes as a free thinker. The minute you think you have the answers you realize later that you knew nothing.
You should try to remain as authentic as possible. If you’re losing your faith as a religious person but are ashamed to tell someone, it’s ok to talk about it. The clergy project is dedicated to the former minister who lost their faith and want to leave the church. Sidenote; this is the beauty in Hinduism as Buddhists have tenets and precepts without praying to a god.
Jerry Dewitt is a popular atheist former pastor of two churches from a staunch religious community. Dewitt experienced doubt when his prayer failed to heal a church member’s brother. Slowly but surely Dewitt left the church and joined famous atheist Richard Dawkins freethought, removing from religion, and the clergy project. All of these groups help believers transition to atheism. Dewitt didn’t deny his feelings and intuition and followed them. The price? His wife, his job, and his connection to his community. He didn’t let himself be influenced by his peers but realized the internal struggle that he knew he had to deal with on his own.
7 Books About Why Science and Spirituality Go Hand in Hand
So what’s the solution? Perhaps it lies in the science of spirituality. The psychology of Buddhism, books that explain the physics of spirituality are all excellent solutions for both Atheists and Theists.
In conclusion, Athiest vs theist should develop more tolerance for each other. The reality is that associating free thought with atheism can be detrimental. Richard Dawkins’s free thought project aims to use logic, reason, and empirical observation to hold beliefs. These aren’t bad but they place a limit on intuition, the unseen, and other metaphysical gifts the human spirit has. However, blindly believing anything is just as detrimental. The relationship between science and spirituality can be a bridge of mutual understanding and awakening.
