Here’s why “New” Years doesn’t exist
Yes, this is a late New years blog..That’s only because “New” years doesn’t exist. Never in recent memory have people been ready to dismiss a calendar year for the next one. 2020, the year of fear was filled with celebrity deaths, pandemics, and a chance for another 4 years of Trump. But what if I told you in the grand scheme of things, none of this mattered? Let’s find out why “New” years is a farce..
In a society predicated upon idol worship, the death of celebrities will always strike the core of the people. Never mind the fact that people die every day, and 1 person died every 30 seconds of co-vid in America. The Maya or the samsara of the world tighten its grip on the spiritually vulnerable in 2020. Even those who challenged God to protect them from covid by worshipping without social distancing, contacted and some died from the virus.
Herman Cain died from covid complication after attending a trump rally while not socially distancing himself. Our beliefs in science and spirituality were definitely put to the test via covid. However, free thinkers with enough common sense and even an ounce of spirituality were fine.
Those of us who have lived the phrase ” Be in the world but not of it” did great in 2020..But what was were different this year? We can expect our spirituality to be tested and our reasoning to be challenged on a daily basis. If we don’t suffer from cognitive dissonance. If we acknowledge our like, confirmation, recency, and other types of biases, then 2020 was no different than any other year..
If you can’t live without a resolution list then read ours from last year here.
In the case of Kobe Byrant and the “others” dying in the terrible crash, people die of terrible accidents in this country every single day. Of the several hundred thousand covid deaths how many do you think were actually celebrities? With social media, the idol worship of celebrities has increased and is something we inspire to be..
Just 3 decades ago during career day in elementary schools all over the country kids shouted their dream jobs. Fireman!, Cop! lawyer, basketball or football player!.. Today, kids want to be social media influencers. Fame and celebrity take precedence overall. Attention is the new oxygen and status regardless if it’s good or bad.
But people have always wanted fame, attention, and acknowledgment. This is why we have award shows. Furthermore, when women wanted attention years ago she wore revealing clothes, now she may setup an only fans channel. And this is why New Years doesn’t exist..
The spiritual inclines of all religions have told us to master our senses and look inward. Not to become slaves to them and look for external validation. 2020 was more of the same as it’s ever been, a spiritual battle of the senses for the soul. What about the pandemic?
The pandemic just exposed America’s comfortability of 1st class living. We overlook our sanitation departments. We undermine the garbage men as an undesirable job. The school Janitor is the butt of kids jokes. These jobs are looked at as “failures” yet they’ve always been “essential”. You just didn’t realize it until the Sh!t hit the fan..
Countries low on the GDP scale have dealt with pandemics recently but we don’t pay attention to them. Maybe because of they’re sh!thole countries. Our desire to individualize 2020 as if it never happened even recently on earth exposes our self-centered culture. Sorry to inform you but New years doesn’t exist.
But what about Trump though? Ever heard of George Bush? Well during the Trump administration HBCU’s received more funding than during any other presidency in history. Furthermore, the prison rate for blacks was the lowest in 31 years. I’m not trying to turn anyone into a Trump supporter just reporting the facts.
There is a laundry list of things I could type that he did wrong. But has there ever been a perfect president? Didn’t Obama send numerous drone strikes to the middle east killing innocent children? Did Trump kill anyone overseas? The war in Iraq lasted 10 years too long.
In conclusion, the enemy now is covid, it doesn’t wear a turban or pray five times a day. Remember the terrorist alerts post 9/11? The government has always wanted to keep its citizens in fear. First, it was fear the native Americans, then black people, then middle easterners, now covid.. There is nothing new about the government controlling the people with fear, and nothing new about the “New” year.
