Distracted Spending food stamps while listening to r. kelly
No, I didn’t watch the R. Kelly documentary that everyone is going crazy over. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that bad parenting was the culprit of the girls who would get intimately involved with r. Kelly. Never mind the potential cut of food stamps looming over our heads. Which is why this story makes the cut for our first distraction of the week.
Pastors are more demonize for being pedophiles in the black community than R.Kelly. The church used to be the foundation of black communities, controlled by the pastor. The man who preaches the word of god is crucified, while a man who preaches lust, one of the seven deadliest sin gets a pass.
A weird dynamic the black community can’t seem to shake exposes itself again. As tough as black people want to portray ourselves, we forgive people for the wrong things. Experiencing white supremacy for 400 plus years yet wanting to integrate more than creating and build within is the first obvious example. In the case of R.Kelly its forgiving pedophiles in the black community/family. I can guarantee that in the one week this series has been out. More people have talked about this than sex trafficking in their own communities. That missing girl photo that was posted on your page one time, she’s probably still missing but you will look for her after Surviving R.Kelly is finished.
We are witnessing the illogical perks of celebrity worship. The Surviving R.Kelly series was watched by more than 1.9 million people, lifetime’s highest rating in 2 years. Â
The majority of the views were women aged 25-54, who more than likely had children while listening to R.Kelly. Being a sex symbol with high status sure has its advantages. Even after decades-old video of you peeing on teenage girls, women will still introduce you to the daughters and nieces. No need to use a van or a Cadillac to lure them, someone will bring them to you. Black people always seem to be willing participants in the destruction of themselves. None of the men in the media who suffered from the #metoo movement were sex symbols, otherwise, they would still be employed. After all television host sounds a lot less appealing than 90’s R&B sex symbol, or the King of R&B.
What void does R.Kelly fill? Does he subconsciously remind you of someone who molested you?. A father figure? Maybe it’s Someone with resources to ensure the survival of your offspring? Scientist
Being slaves to our sexual urges to birth children that we can’t afford to feed consistently is a major issue as well. Yes, the majority of SNAP receipts are whites but their not the ones giving Mr. Kelly a pass. Making babies you can’t afford to feed is not a job that the government is supposed to reimburse with food stamps. There is no shortage of children in this country last time I checked.
CBS reported that in September of 2018, over 4.7 billion SNAP benefits were distributed throughout the country. This covered over 42 million people. Here’s our thoughts on how the welfare mentality is destructive to the black community.
