this is exactly why your New Years resolution list is trash. How many years are you going to try to lose weight only to gain it during the holidays?
Or try to best the best Version of yourself yet you don’t know who you are because you’re a people pleaser? Let’s not forget the cutting off all negative people, only to end up dating a narcissist? What about saving money?
Opening up a savings account? More people are living at home than ever before and there’s a trillion dollar student loan debt. No one is saving many hardly these days. These lists will make us healthier and richer, while enjoying the company of others and thats it.
Trying to be healthy is something you should strive for regardless what time of the year it is. The same goes for saving money and exiting negative relationships. We’re embarking on a new journey into a new decade. If your a freethinker or an avid reader of our articles your list should and may look something like this;
Also practicing digital minimalism will help you sleep as cutting out blight light helps the body secrete melatonin. Sleep is going obviously going to be overlooked on many peoples list yet its something we complain about the minute we wake up.
In fact, the Japanese ministry of health is encouraging all employers to give 30 minute naps to its employees. I would go so far to say that the sleep epidemic is global. It affects more people in the U.S. than the heroin epidemic yet it receives little to no media attention.
Expect the 20/20 decade to reach an all time high in regards to mass consumer manipulation on all levels. Political, Economical, Activism, Education, Health and religion are all at risk to being manipulated by corporations that receive data. The worst part is, is that the majority of people are going to give their data away, for free!!!
Should we enforce accountability for police and activist? With protest being just as crowded as gym’s expect activism to populate new years resolution lists as the years continue. There are so many topics to choose from to advocate for and against.
As a result the fight for injustice is throwing haymaker after haymaker against systematic oppression. How can an unorganized attack beat something systematic?
Activism is at risk for spreading itself too thin. Systematic oppression is a sweet science that has been running for centuries, its in our DNA. It influences every area of life in this country. Do we think we can just wake up record something on our phone or protest and do real damage? Sure every issue has its relevancy but activist have to start to consider a hierarchy.
Yes, that may feel anti egalitarian but until activist have larger numbers and are more organized its inefficient energy. Activism is definitely 24/7 366, and the heart of activism doesn’t want to leave out the voiceless. Leaving out the voiceless goes against the very fabric of what activism represents.
However concentrating energy on one issue at time to create better results while make it more worthwhile. As a result this success will help more people to become involved as well. Activist love to hold others account for their injustices, false promises and short comings. For 20/20 it’s time to look in the mirror.
In closing, to sum up the list its all about using our time efficiently. Being healthy, saving money and having cool friends are the bare minimum. This New Years resolution challenge yourself, because everything on the list will challenge you. Even if you don’t decide to get involved as an activist there are causes that affect you and people you care about.
