The super bowl of gentrification in the black mecca of america
If you think the biggest game today is the Super Bowl you may want to think twice. Black politicians are the mascots in this game of gentrification. No animal costumes to hide their faces. Instead, fake smiles coupled with suits and ties hide a facade that is politically correct. To win you must give people the illusion that you care about them and can solve their problems.
These problems are mainly caused by your colleagues and alumni. You may even publicly shame them, even if they play for the other team. But in reality, Democrats and Republicans are both on the same team. Gentrification is mostly played in cities ran by Democrats by the way.
Each resident displaced is a point, each vote from a resident is a point as well. However, a displaced resident that votes is a bonus. The stronger the illusion the greater the attachment. Escaping property tax is a bonus as well. However, the minute the average person begins to take notice of this injustice, they will subconsciously…….go watch the game…
In our book review, we asked our readers if black gentrifiers exist? This Sunday in the gentrified west Atlanta area the super bowl will take place. Known as “The Black Mecca” Atlanta is predominately black and has a black female mayor. Yet suffers from the same problems the major of democrat ran cities do, Gentrification.
The Mercedez Benz stadium in Atlanta, the black mecca is the most expensive in history as tax dollars is concerned. The Falcons aren’t paying rent or property taxes on the stadium. Furthermore, the falcon’s ownership has agreed to give all ticket sales to the NFL. Unfortunately, this isn’t anything new. The civic arena displaced an entire community
Black leadership and sports are arguably two of the biggest illusions the black community refuses to accept. Sports stadiums drain vulnerable communities of resources and often displace them. Whenever a city is hosting an Olympics or super bowl you can guarantee that gentrification is not too far.
The working class is shamed for wanting jobs and better ways to provide for their family. However when its time to build new stadium politicians
But sports, the great escape somehow we feel gives us authentic joy, even if temporarily. Even at the expense of communities that look just like ours. Play ball.
